The Carson & Barnes circus visited Taos Saturday and Sunday (May 4-5) to present its dinosaur-themed "Circus Saurus" show under the The Big Top at LULAC Field. The show featured speed juggling, arealists, acrobats and clowns in the two-hour lng spectacle just north of Walmart. Now in its 83rd year of touring, the Oklahoma-based Carson & Barnes is one of the last circuses to continue using wild animals in its act. This year the cicus used elephants and horses to entertain crws under The Big Top. Community members voiced their opposition on social media as part of an ongoing conversation about animal abuse.
