Two people injured in rollover near Tres Piedras

Posted

At least two women were injured and three other people were involved in a two-vehicle accident about four miles north of Tres Piedras on U.S. 285 Sunday afternoon (Aug. 5), according to first responders. One of the vehicles rolled over, causing the more serious injuries, though none were critical, according to Taos County EMS director Chris Medina.
Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe asked drivers to avoid the area or use caution.
Initially, emergency responders requested a medical helicopter to airlift the patients, but they were unable to respond due to weather, according to Medina.
Both patients were being transported back to Holy Cross Hospital by ambulance, Medina said.
Both were wearing their seatbelts, according to Taos Central Dispatch reports.
