The Taos Tigers football team defeated the Pojoaque Valley Elks Friday (Oct.26) in a 50-0 victory that ended the game at halftime.
Coming off of their first loss of the season against St. Pius last week, the Tigers (8-1) hit back strong against Pojoaque, holding the Elks behind the 50 yard line for the majority of the game. The Tiger momentum started early in the game with senior Jonathan Garcia scoring the first touchdown only 20 seconds into the game.
“We ended this the way that we should have,” said Tigers Coach Art Abreu. “Theres no disrespect here. It’s just about us trying to get back on that roll we’ve were on.”
Abreu said his team has been focused on regaining their victory momentum the entire week and now looks toward Bernalillo where the Tigers will play their final game of the regular season.
The Tigers will face the Bernalillo Spartans Friday (Nov. 2) in Bernalillo.
