Tigers celebrate homecoming Friday


Calling all Tigers! It's time for the Taos High School homecoming parade and football game. It'll happen Friday (Sept. 15).

School classes will release early in preparation for the big event.

The parade, based around a Disney-esque theme of "Where Tiger Dreams Come True," will gather at the high school around noon. Albright Street and a portion of Gusdorf Road will be closed to traffic from 11:30 a.m. until after 1 p.m. as the parade floats and bands prepare. The parade starts at 1 p.m.

The Tigers will take on the Santa Fe High School Demons at 7 p.m. on Friday for the homecoming game.The Taos High School 25-year class reunion takes place this weekend. Following is the schedule of events and associated fees. All class alumni are invited to attend.

Taos High alumni of 1992 are all invited to events celebrating the 25th anniversary of their graduation.

Friday (Sept. 15)

1 p.m. Entering a float in homecoming parade

5 p.m. "Flashback Friday" tour of the high school

7 p.m. Taos Tiger football game

9 p.m. Old Martina's Hall (DJ playing, no cover)

Saturday (Sept. 16)

3-5:30 p.m. Happy hour at Martyrs Steakhouse

6 p.m. Dinner (dutch) at Martyrs steakhouse

9 p.m. Alley Cantina (Damn Band playing, cover $8 to $12)

Sunday (Sept. 17)

10:30 a.m. Memorial Mass for deceased 1992 classmates at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church

Noon. Farewell family picnic and ice cream social at Kit Carson Park

Fees are $20 per classmate.
