The fate of the UNM Ski Team is uncertain. House Bill 320, introduced in the New Mexico legislature, would, if passed, allocate $2 million to restore the sports that were cut by the university regents.

The end of UNM ski racing at Red River?

After being cut for budgetary reasons in 2017, the University of New Mexico Ski Team was able to support itself for another year with an outpouring of donations and sponsorships.

Using the support of the public, the University of New Mexico Ski Team was able to host its home meet Feb. 1-2. The downhill portions were held at River River Ski & Summer Area and the nordic races at the Enchanted Forest Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe Area.
