The Taos Tigers were able to get a key victory against district opponent St. Pius X on Friday night at Anaya Field. Down for most of the game, Taos kept fighting and secured a 21-19 victory.
With under 20 seconds left in the game, quarterback Noah Armijo faked the handoff and kept the ball for a 4-yard touchdown run — the one that would ultimately seal the game.
The Sartans had about 10 seconds to work with, but on the final play Taos’ Alejandro Gonzales would intercept the pass to seal his team’s victory.
