Taos little league Minor All star team girls win District Championship title, prep for State tournament

My name is Kim Marcus I am the head coach for the Taos little league Minor All star team girls softball 9-11 yr olds. I also coached softball at Taos High school for three years. Recently we played at Districts in Las Vegas NM we won the title of District Championship and now have been working everyday sometimes twice a day to prepare for the State tournament in Silver City NM. Karmen Fogarty is our pitcher with a total of 26 strikeouts for a combined three games at districts. After districts One of our teammates Aubrielle Montez was injured at practice and had to get surgery on her nose so that left us with having to find a replacement after sometime with the help of the Taos Little League Board we were able to find a girl Charlie Castillo a player from the regular season who didn’t not go through the usual process of becoming a all star player. With just a couple practices she was welcomed by her teammates and we’ve been training ever since. All of this effort could not be possible with the dedication of my parents. The tournament will be on July 6-9 with three other teams in the tournament from all over the state of NM.
