Taos Inn gets new owners

Months of waiting on the real estate market are finally over for the Historic Taos Inn.

IMPRINT Hospitality, a Colorado-based luxury property management company, has announced it has finalized the acquisition of the Taos Inn and will begin a renovation plan over the next two years. The company will be overseeing management of the inn and previously transferred the liquor license on the property to the IMPRINT name.

“From the moment we first saw the Taos Inn, we fell in love with its charming and welcoming character,” said IMPRINT Hospitality Managing Partner Alexandra Walterspiel. “The fact that there’s such a strong tie in to the local community gave us a very comfortable feeling. When the opportunity presented itself to be a part of this iconic property, we immediately seized it.”

IMPRINT Hospitality manages only "lifestyle and luxury" properties, according to its website.

Rooms will see new furniture and fixtures as well as new carpet and lighting.

“We are planning many updates for the accommodations and the beloved Doc Martin's Restaurant,” said Matt Seim, Managing Partner of IMPRINT, in a release. “Rest assured all upgrades will be made to reflect the inn’s character, ambiance and cultural authenticity.  Our overarching intention is to ensure that the Historic Taos Inn never loses its moniker of 'the Living Room of Taos.' ”

In addition to the inn, IMPRINT will also be focusing on Doc Martin's Restaurant and the Adobe Bar inside the property, which were included in the sale. A press release states that new interiors and menu items are in the future for the iconic Taos location.

This is a developing story.
