Baseball

The Tigers are 4-2 in the district after winning 7-1 in Española Valley on Tuesday (April 16). They played on the road in Pojoaque Valley at 4 p.m. Tuesday (April 23) after this section went to press, and have three games this week.

They host Moriarty for an 11 a.m. / 1:30 p.m. double-header Saturday (April 27) and they play their third game against the Hilltoppers in Los Alamos on Tuesday (April 30) at 4 p.m.

Softball

The Lady Tigers lost 9-6 to the Sundevils on Tuesday (April 16) in Española Valley. The results of their scheduled double-header with Ratón High School on Thursday (April 18) weren't available at press time.

The girls traveled to Pojoaque Valley High School on Tuesday (April 23) for a 4 p.m. game after this section went to press and they have three games this week.

The Lady Tigers host Moriarty for a double-header Saturday (April 27) with games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and they play their third game against the Hilltoppers in Los Alamos on Tuesday (April 30) at 4 p.m.

Track

The Tigers had two meets this week: the Capital City Invitational at Santa Fe High School on Saturday (April 20) and, for those athletes ranking in the top eight in the state, the Marlin Sepulveda Invitational meet in Albuquerque on Monday (April 22). See Taos Track on page B1 for details.

The Tigers have their only home meet of the season Saturday (April 27). The Tiger Relays begin at 9 a.m. at Anaya Stadium.

Golf

The Tigers golf team traveled to Ratón on Friday (April 19) for a tournament, the results of which are not yet available. At the Taos Invite on Monday (April 22), Josh Fambro won with a 74 and Caitlyn Tafoya shot 94, her third qualifying score of the season and enough to get her into the state tournament in Farmington. Both she and Fambro will be playing in Piñon Hills in May.

Tennis

There have been some last-minute schedule changes in tennis, and individual district championships will be the first weekend in May, with exact dates and location to be determined.

Questa

Baseball

The Wildcats host Mora at 4 p.m. Wednesday (April 24) after this section goes to press and play two more games this week on the road. They travel to Mesa Vista on Saturday (April 27) for a 4 p.m. game and to Mora on Tuesday (April 30) for a game, also at 4 p.m.

Track

The Questa Wildcats hosted the Questa Invite track meet Friday (April 12). See page B3 for details of the boys' team. Results of the girls' are in last week's paper.

The team will compete at the Northern Río Grande meet in Dulce on Saturday (April 27) and in the Ram Relays on Monday (April 29), starting at 3 p.m.

Peñasco

Baseball

The Panthers lost their games to Native American Community Academy in the nonconference double-header Saturday (April 20), 16-6 and 9-5.

They played a double-header at Cimarron on Monday (April 22), but results were not available at press time. They are scheduled to play Mora in Mora at 4 p.m. Tuesday (April 30).

Track

The Peñasco Panthers competed in Escalante on Saturday (April 20) and will travel to the Northern Río Grande (NRG) meet in Dulce on Saturday (April 27).
