Taos Air welcomed its first California flights Thursday (Jan. 9) into Taos Regional Airport.

Community members and government officials gathered for a celebration of the airline's new 2020 flight season as two jets from The Golden State landed at the airport. Passengers were greeted by Taos Ski Valley CEO David Norden and lawmakers from New Mexico.

“There is no limit to this expansion,” said Senator Robert “Bobby” Gonzales about the air service.

Taos Air began its service to and from Texas and added the California flights as part of its 2020 expansion efforts.

During the event, Mayor and District 42 Representative Dan Barrone praised the ongoing community efforts that have made the Taos Air flights possible.

“It’s a great time in our community,” he said. “If we all work together, we can make our communities great again.”

Taos Air currently provides service to and from Austin–Bergstrom International and Dallas Love Field airports. Flights to California start at $125 and flights to Texas begin at $160.
