Take care of pilgrims walking to Chimayó

Posted

This week, thousands of people will make their way on foot to the Santuario de Chimayó. You will see them walking along roads and highways around the region. They are on the annual pilgrimage to the small town to mark Holy Week, to find healing, to seek solace and for many other reasons.

They are taking a break from their daily concerns, their social media, their many distractions to simply walk on a journey for the spirit and the soul. Some will walk with family and friends. Some will make the pilgrimage solo. Some will walk through the night.

Take care of them. Drive carefully around them and wish them well on their journey.

And if you find yourself in need of solace, join them.

A walk through beautiful Northern New Mexico to a small church might be just what you need.
