Standing with Lyla June Johnston

The lands in this part of the world show us the bones of our Mother Earth. With her bones exposed, it is often easier and more rapid to suck out her marrow.

This is what is happening in the Permian Basin in New Mexico. The next few years are critical. The latest United Nations report says we have less than 10 years to transition away from fossil fuels to avert disaster. We need everyone showing up for each other, for the future generations and for planet Earth.

Lyla June Johnston is showing the way with her seven-day "Fast for the Future" where she has unveiled her plan for the climate crisis. It looks seven generations ahead, calling for decisions in the best interest of our future ancestors, right now. As a candidate for House District 47, she challenges a powerful incumbent who sells out our children's futures to unethical, destructive corporations.

As she closes out her fast, I'm honored to drive down from Taos on Sunday (Jan. 26) and stand with her on the steps of the Roundhouse in Santa Fe at noon. Please consider joining us, carpooling to share gas and support our hometown wayshower as she finishes her seven-day fast for the future.
