Come for an exciting evening of Tiger basketball. The Taos High School Boys Basketball Alumni game will take place Friday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. in Otero Gymnasium. Watch as our 2018-2019 varsity boys basketball team takes on the Taos Tiger Alumni All-Stars, a team of 12 preselected Tiger alumni, led by class of ’98 and former Taos Tiger basketball great Raul Sanchez. It promises to be an evening of action-packed basketball for Tiger fans. All proceeds from gate and concession will go the Taos Tiger boys basketball team for uniforms, travel gear, meals and camps.

A ski-industry first, The Teacher Pass, will provide educators with a full-season of skiing with no black-out dates at a heavily discounted price of $99. The Teacher Pass will pay for itself for anyone planning to ski two or more days this winter.
The Pass special introductory price is being offered for $99 starting through Dec. 13, the day before opening day. The Teacher Pass will increase to $199 on opening day. Additionally, 25% lodging discounts on hotel rooms, condos, and private homes will be available on select dates for Teacher Pass holders.

The Bureau of Land Management Taos Field Office is continuing the closure of the La Junta Trail at the Wild Rivers Recreation Area. The closure is required to address maintenance needs. The closure will remain in effect until further notice.
La Junta Point Overlook and Campground will remain open during this time. Visitors can access the River Trail and the lower parts of the canyon from the Little Arsenic Springs Trail or Big Arsenic Springs Trail. The BLM asks the public to respect the closure of the trail.
As always, the BLM Taos field office reminds all visitors to take precautions when visiting public lands. Visitors are reminded to dress appropriately, consider local weather conditions and altitude and remember your outdoor essentials: water, snacks, appropriate footwear, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Public demonstration days are scheduled at Tenderfoot Katie's, Taos Ski Valley, Dec. 14-15. Demo the newest skis and snowboards on the market. The event will be open to the public for two days from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the base of Lift 1. Registration is $10 for the two-day event and will be located in the Looking Glass inside Tenderfoot Katie's at the base of Lift 1.
The first day of the 2018-19 winter ski season at Taos Ski Valley is slated for Thursday (Nov. 22).
