Taos girls soccer masters Pojoaque Valley
The Taos girls soccer team quieted district opponent Pojoaque Valley on Thursday (Oct.10) when it won 6-0.
It was the second district match for the Lady Tigers, and the win moves them to 8-3-2 overall and 1-1 in the district. As of press time, the win had Taos in second place in 4A District 2 right behind Los Alamos, a team which shut out the Lady Tigers, 3-0, on Oct. 8.

Taos volleyball gets shut out by Los Alamos
Taos girls volleyball has had a tough time as of late, losing five straight matches. The team's most recent loss came at the hands of Los Alamos, which shut down the Lady Tigers in straight sets on Oct.10.
The first set was a blowout for the Lady Hilltoppers, who went on to win 25-8. The third set was also a blowout, as Los Alamos won 25-12. The second set, though, was close for the Lady Tigers but they still lost it, 25-23.
As of press time, the Lady Tigers were ranked last in the 4A District 2 standings. They have five matches remaining before the district tournament in November.
Questa football takes on Taos junior varsity team
The Questa football team doesn't have nearly enough players to fill out a squad and compete. With around 17 players total, Questa competes as an independent, "which means we play JV teams," Questa head coach Julian Rivera said.
Questa's football team has only one senior and five eighth-graders and a few other players in between, Rivera said.
On Saturday (Oct. 12), Questa faced Taos' junior varsity squad and suffered a 32-14 loss.
As of press time, there wasn't another Questa football game scheduled for the remainder of the season.
