Tigers farewell at Pecos cross-country invite
Taos High Boys Cross-Country led by Eddie Duran followed by Elliot Moltz, Duncan Stewart-Jackson, JC Evans, Joe Trujillo and Nathaniel Martinez finished second in the 22 team Ron Valdez Cross-Country Invite at Pecos High School on Saturday (Sept. 21).
Girls had an impressive win by sophmore Alyx Mastor. She was followed by junior Ella Katz, freshman Marielle Gomez and Kai Duchanois.
The Tigers boys team is currently running number 8 in New Mexico High School Class 4A and girls are number 7.
Next meet with the Santa Fe High Capital City Invite on Sept. 28.
Lady Tigers soccer tie it up with Academy
Taos girls soccer went 2-2 against the Academy for Technology and the Classics Sept. 19. Their win-tie-loss record stands at a solid 5-2-2 as the Tigers claw their way toward districts. The team is scheduled to take on West Las Vegas in an away, nonconference game Wednesday (Sept. 25) after this section goes to press.
Taos girl golfers take third
Taos Tiger girl golfers placed third of eight teams at the Los Alamos Fall Blast on Monday (Sept. 23). Caitlyn Tafoya led the team with a 97.2 average over the six rounds of play. Cleveland won the event followed by Los Alamos and Taos.
The boys golf team also was at the Los Alamos Invite Monday, but scores had not been entered in MaxPreps at press time.
Questa volleyball fights hard against Dulce
Questa lost its matchup against defending champs Dulce in a nonconference match Sept. 19.
Their overall win-loss record stands at 3-5 for the season.
The Lady Wildcats were slated to face Mesa Vista Wednesday (Sept. 25) after this section went to press.
