The local immigrant advocacy group Sin Fronteras is collecting donations for a holiday run to the children along the Mexican side of the border in Juarez, Mexico.

Sin Fronteras NM will be collecting donations Thursday (Dec. 12) from 3 to 5 p.m. at Hinds & Hinds (downtown), 218 Paseo del Pueblo Sur,  at Storage unit 49.

The group began their work in 2018 after camps of refugees seeking asylum were set up along the border. Since their initial trip in June of 2018, Sin Fronteras has helped several facilities and families along the border with donations from Taos County.

The group is accepting only the following items:

  • Toys (new or gently used)
  • Jackets (children and adult)
  • Beanies, gloves and scarfs (children and adult)
  • Shoes (children and adult)
  • Socks (new or gently used)
  • Underwear (new)

Christmas wrapping paper and bows will also be accepted.

Monetary donations are also accepted. Checks can be made out to Sin Fronteras NM and mailed to P.O Box 531, Ranchos de Taos, NM 87557.
