Robert Patrick Larkin,
March 28, 1926-July 14, 2019
Was born to John and Lucille Larkin in Sioux City, Iowa. He lived the first portion of his life in Minneapolis until his family was transferred to Fargo, ND. After graduation from high school, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. After the war, he attended St. Thomas college followed by University of Minnesota, from which he graduated with a BA in business. Shortly after graduation, he met Helen Marie Connett on a blind date. They married and resided in Edina, MN where they started their family with children Patrick, Julie, John and Robert. Larkin spent his working career in business, serving as vice president for two national corporations. Due to the nature of his business, the family moved around a fair amount, spending time in the Bay Area, Albuquerque, and Denver. The couple retired in the Seattle area to tend to Helen’s health care needs. After Helen passed away, Robert ultimately landed in Taos, where son Patrick lives. He called Vista Linda, in Ranchos de Taos, home for twenty years. In his final years, Bob, as friends and family knew him, was fortunate to live with his family. He spent time with son John and Cheryl Larkin in Durango, daughter Julie Power and Dell in Arizona and with niece Kathy (Cronin) and Jeff Hirschboeck in Cedaredge, CO. He enjoyed and appreciated his social time upmost and was appreciative to have this time with supportive family. Family and friends will remember his social charms and his sense of humor. Throughout his life, he enjoyed travel and good friends. Mr. Larkin was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen and his son Robert Jr. He is survived by his brother Dan and his sister Kathleen, his two sons Patrick and John, his daughter Julie, his five grandchildren David, Eric, Keilan, Quinn and Oona, and his two great grandchildren Riley and Remi.
