Registration open for summer camps


The Red River Community House’s Nature Discovery Camps are returning for the third year and registration is underway.

According to organizer Don Wendell, two four-day sessions are offered and campers are expected to attend all four days of the camp.

Camp dates are:

June 18-21 for ages 6-8

June 25-28 for ages 9-11

At the camp, children will experience the wonders of nature that surround Red River. They will use their senses to learn about birds, butterflies, fish, flowers, trees, water, weather, habitats and more through a variety of hands-on outdoor and indoor activities. Camp participants will receive a T-shirt and other goodies.

The camp is free; however, enrollment is limited and registration in advance is required. To register, send an email to with the following information:

• Child’s name

• Session for which you are registering

• Child’s age on the first day of camp

• Child’s date of birth

You will receive a confirmation email along with additional information.
