Ralph Marvin Gallegos, Penasco NM - Born August 24, 1965 to Jose and Loyola Gallegos was called by his creator on January 9, 2020. Ralph was preceded in death by his mother Loyola M. Gallegos, both his grandmothers, Socorrito Martinez and Adelina Medina. He is survived by his father and companion, Jose A Gallegos, one brother Eloy (Sam) Gallegos and wife Delores, four sisters, Evelyn, Rose, Nora and Luggie. Also surviving him are many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention and a multitude of friends. Ralph was a passionate firefighter! For several years he was a member of the Type I Carson Hotshot Crew, as well as a member of the Type II Southwest Firefighter (SWFF) Crews, traveling throughout the United States in support of wildland fire incidents. Sawyer and tree faller were among his most valued qualifications. Another passion of Ralph’s was herbs (remedios). He was quick to collect and identify most herbs including its healing properties. Ralph was a humble helping hand to anyone who needed his help. Whether it be harvesting firewood, lifting hay bales or simply cleaning a ditch. Ralph, may you rest in the loving arms of Our Blessed Mother, you will be missed by your family, your friends and your community.
