Police blotter - July 4


The following is a condensed version of Taos Police reports. 

July 4

5:34 a.m. Suspicious circumstance, Reed Lane - A juvenile caller said a man standing outside the window of their trailer was peeking through the window at them.

11 a.m. Suspicious circumstance, Albertsons - A man on a bicycle appeared to be scoping out the area, a caller said.

11:11 a.m. Battery, Santistevan Road - A caller said a man was following them in a vehicle. When they pulled over to speak with him, the man allegedly punched their girlfriend in the face.

2:34 p.m. Shoplifting, Walmart - A caller said that a man stole some sound bars from the store.

2:40 p.m. Welfare check, Subway - A man was lying on the ground near a bus stop in the area.

3:39 p.m. Welfare check, Aaron's - A person was lying on the ground with several bags around them.

4:48 p.m. Larceny, Albertsons - A man stole some liquor, punched the store manager and then took off running westbound on La Posta Road.

5:32 p.m. Law, unknown problem, Weimer Road - A caller said her neighbor was texting her 13-year-old daughter very inappropriate things and was refusing to stop.

5:36 p.m. Suicide subject, Morada Lane - Calling from a crisis line, a caller reported that a 14-year-old girl was threatening to walk to Kit Carson Park to overdose on pills. The father was with the girl and told authorities he would stay with her throughout the night.

5:44 p.m. Domestic disturbance, Cielo Azul - A caller said her neighbors were arguing and breaking windows.

6:23 p.m. Alarm commercial, The Taos News - An alarm had been set off at the newspaper.

8:08 p.m. Law, unknown problem, El Camino Lodge - A caller said that a woman sitting at a table outside the motel was listed as wanted on Taos County Crime Stoppers.
