The following is a condensed version of Taos Police reports from Dec. 11-16.

Dec. 11

12:14 a.m. Traffic accident, private property, Days Inn - A caller said a driver in a moving truck hit the canopy of the building.

4:35 a.m. Welfare check, Walmart - A caller was concerned about a man who appeared to be living in a red Pontiac near IHOP.

5:09 a.m. Animal noise, Las Cruces Road - A caller said that a dog in the area had been barking for a half-hour and wanted an animal control officer to go check on it.

2:45 p.m. Trespassing, Walgreens - A caller said a woman panhandling near the Redbox, who had been told multiple times in the past to not be there, was back in the area.

5:08 p.m. Disturbing the peace, Lotaburger (north) - A caller said an employee who was asked to leave was still on the premises.

5:55 p.m. Missing juvenile, Monte Vista Road - A caller said a child was missing, but later found him inside the residence.

6:40 p.m. Information report, Roberts Lane - A caller was requesting frequent patrols throughout the night because someone was continuing to come by to knock on her door.

7:48 p.m. Harassment, Walmart - A caller said another man was threatening to beat him up because he had talked to the man's child.

Dec. 12

11:03 a.m. Larceny, Cohn Lane - A caller said her son took her phone away and wouldn't give it back. The caller said she is disabled.

12:35 p.m. Property lost, Lotaburger (south) - A caller wanted to make a report on a purse she believes she lost at Lotaburger.

3:06 p.m. Property found, Enterprise - A caller said a Smith & Wesson handgun was found in one of their rental vehicles.

8:09 p.m. Information report, Weimer Road - A caller said some cars were racing in the area and wanted frequent patrols throughout the night.

Dec. 13

9:19 a.m. Loitering, Walgreens - A caller said there was a woman outside panhandling by the Redbox.

10:28 a.m. Narcotics offense adult, Walmart - A caller said a customer found a needle in the parking lot containing a black substance, possibly heroin.

11:02 a.m. Shoplifting, Big 5 - A caller said a male took some batting gloves and fled on foot toward Randall Lumber & Hardware.

11:39 a.m. Shoplifting, Ace Hardware - A caller said a male stole an item and took off toward Sonic.

3:20 p.m. Citizen assist, Mariposa Apartments - A caller said her teenage daughter hit her this morning because she would not let her take her bike to school.

6:01 p.m. Welfare check, Hampton Inn - A caller said that his girlfriend jumped out of his car and ran to the Hampton Inn.

9:53 p.m. Assault, Paseo del Pueblo Norte - A caller said a man pulling out of Taos Plaza in a four-door Chevy Malibu pointed a shotgun or AK-47 at some people and cocked the firearm. Another caller later reported that shots were fired on Don Juan Valdez Lane.

Dec. 14

2:48 p.m. Narcotics offense adult, Sears - A caller said some people on the sidewalk appeared to be shooting up drugs.

3:48 p.m. Breaking and entering, Cordoba Lane - A caller said someone was in her apartment while she was sleeping. She said some items were missing and other items had been moved around by the time she woke up.

5:52 p.m. Suspicious circumstance, Walmart - A caller said a man wearing a black backpack was looking into vehicles in the parking lot.

7:19 p.m. Traffic stop, Juanita Lane - A caller said a vehicle was dragging its front bumper.

10:50 p.m. Welfare check, El Monte Sagrado - A caller said that several parties, all involving a lot of drinking, were going on around the property.

Dec. 15

9:13 a.m. Breaking and entering, Camino de la Placita - A caller said the lock to a carport had been ripped off and the door was ajar.

11:26 a.m. Welfare check, Holy Cross Medical Center - A caller said a man wearing a backpack took off with an IV still in his arm.

3:16 p.m. Assault, Cervantes Drive - A caller said his neighbor threatened his life.

8:22 p.m. Welfare check, Super Save - A caller said a couple was walking through the parking lot. The caller said one of them was wearing a backpack and it sounded like a child was inside the backpack yelling for help.

Dec. 16

6:53 a.m. Welfare check, Don Fernando Street - A caller said a man fell and hit his head while walking to the library.

1:55 p.m. Trespassing, Byzantium - A caller wanted a man who shows up around dinnertime and loiters removed from the area.

4:26 p.m. Be on the lookout, Mariposa Boutique - A caller said a man was walking around Bent Street carrying a stick and waving it at people.

8:54 p.m. Shoplifting, Walmart - A caller said someone stole some sweaters, hoodies and other warm clothing from the store, then took off southbound on Paseo del Pueblo Sur.
