Police blotter


The following is a portion of a condensed version of the Taos Police Department blotter from June 7-12.

June 7

12:22 a.m. Welfare check, Allsup's (north) - A female said she was sleepy and nauseous because she had taken too much of her medication.

10:17 a.m. Harassment, Taos Plaza - Caller advised that a male was harassing them while they were trying to work.

10:54 a.m. Larceny, Smith's - Someone stole a shopper's grill from the back of their truck while they were in the store.

2:13 p.m. Trespassing, Walgreens - A caller stated that there were transients taking up residence in the back of the store.

2:27 p.m. Animal bite, Top Notch Towing - A man was bit in the hand by two dogs.

5:15 p.m. Domestic disturbance, Holy Cross Hospital - A male and female were fighting on Weimer Road near the hospital.

5:27 p.m. Shoplifting, Albertsons - A woman in black yoga pants was stealing.

7:36 p.m. Larceny, Hatchery Road - A male individual was trying to steal items from a church.

June 8

12:16 a.m. Welfare check, Taos Plaza - A woman appeared to be passed out in the center of Taos Plaza.

10:15 a.m. Criminal damage, Electric Sheep - Caller advised that someone broke one of the shop's windows. There was no entry and nothing was stolen.

10:32 a.m. Welfare check, AutoZone - There was a male riding in the median who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

3:01 p.m. Trespassing, Paseo del Pueblo Sur - There was a drunk man inside a restaurant. He was refusing to leave.

5:19 Property found, Siler Road - A woman found a gun on the sidewalk.

8 p.m. Filemón Sanchez Park - There was a man near the dugouts who was carrying a gun.

8:30 p.m. Missing juvenile, Taos Plaza - A 15-year-old girl was reported missing. She was last seen wearing a blue and white dress and a blue sweater.

8:50 p.m. Shoplifting, Albertsons - A man was caught stealing food items.

June 9

12:04 a.m. Burglary, residential, Gusdorf Place - A woman wanted to report that her brother broke into her house and stole all of her items.

1:04 a.m. Assault, Holy Cross Hospital - A female assaulted the medical staff.

7:54 a.m. Breaking and entering, AC Towing - Someone had broken into the shop the night before. The windows to the building were broken.

9:04 a.m. Breaking and entering, Carson National Forest - Caller advised that people broke into vehicles and the shed on-site.

5:09 p.m. Shoplifting, Walmart - Caller wanted to file a report regarding a laptop that was stolen on May 7.

5:46 p.m. Welfare check, Allsup's - There was a man passed out and talking to himself.

June 10

2:03 a.m. Welfare check, Este Es Road - Caller advised that she could hear someone walking on her roof.

3:36 a.m. Prowler, Taos County Housing Authority - There was a white male walking around the neighborhood. The caller wasn't sure what he was up to.

9:17 a.m. Animal stray, Hampton Inn - There was a brown dog that kept running into the dining room while people were trying to eat breakfast.

12:24 p.m. Trespassing, Allsup's (north) - There was an individual who had been banned from the property who keeps coming back.

12:41 p.m. Law, unknown problem, McDonald's - There was an individual parked in the restaurant parking lot with signs taped to his car.

2:44 p.m. Shoplifting, Albertsons - A female walked out with a full cart of groceries and was headed toward the former Taos Burger King location.

2:49 p.m. Welfare check, Las Cruces Road - There was a man sitting on his steps with a bottle of vodka.

3:05 p.m. Animal bite, Kit Carson Park - A man was bitten on the stomach by a stray dog.

4:36 p.m. Disorderly conduct, Walmart - There was a drunk man trying to fight with the manager. He left in the direction of the garden center.

5:26 p.m. Welfare check, Paseo del Pueblo Sur - A male in a wheelchair fell and was on the side of the road.

9:59 p.m. Law, unknown problem, Allsup's (north) - A male had been in the bathroom for about 25 minutes. The caller believed he may have been under the influence of something.

June 11

2:14 a.m. Welfare check, Río Grande Gorge Bridge - A male was at the bridge making suicidal threats.

12:54 p.m. Suspicious circumstance, Kachina Lodge - There was an IV bag alongside other surgical instruments in a big box that was found in one of the rooms.

3:14 p.m. Property lost, Taos Spa & Tennis Club - A caller wanted to report a lost or stolen wallet. He believed it went missing in Taos Plaza.

6:15 p.m. Law, unknown problem, Kit Carson Park - The caller could see a man and a woman opening car doors. They saw them take a bag from a Mini Cooper. The two individuals kept looking around to see if anyone was watching them.

6:17 p.m. Overdose, El Cerrito Apartments - A caller wanted to report that their friend had just overdosed on heroin.

7:59 p.m. Shoplifting, Walgreens - Two highly intoxicated individuals outside were bothering customers. The caller also stated that one of the individuals had been caught shoplifting earlier in the day.

June 12

9:54 a.m. Traffic accident, private property, Albertsons - A blue Ford truck backed up into a black Nissan truck in the parking lot.

10:50 a.m. Larceny, Taos Fine Arts - Caller advised that someone had stolen a rug valued at $150 from the store the day before.

3:19 p.m. Traffic accident, no injury, Ranchero Boot - A man said he hit some sort of animal and was concerned that it had damaged the front bumper of his vehicle.

4:51 p.m. Narcotics offense, adult, Cervantes Drive - There were two men smoking crack in the area.

6:04 p.m. Overdose, Bendix Drive - A woman overdosed on Effexor.

9:40 p.m. Missing juvenile, Zia Street - An 18-year-old male left in a blue Pontiac Grand Am.
