Construction on the natural gas pipeline resumed after a four-day break over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Traffic control restrictions, including the use of a pilot vehicle to escort motorists, were reinstated Monday (Nov. 27) and work has resumed near south of the Río Grande Gorge Visitors Center. Excavation, staging and welding is continuing along the right-of-way.
New Mexico Gas Company has plans to begin an auger bore at the south end of the project area -- about a half-mile south of the Taos-Río Arriba county line -- next Monday, according to the company's spokesperson.
