Oktoberfest turns everybody into alpine-loving singers and dancers in Red River

Beer steins and polka music were aplenty in Red River as Brandenburg Park transformed into a little Bavaria over the weekend (Oct. 11-14) for the annual Oktoberfest celebrations.

The beloved fall festival included microbreweries, food and craft vendors, contests and activities for the whole family. Among the contests was the popular Mr. and Miss Oktoberfest competition, where festivalgoers young and old completed a series of tasks to earn the titles.

Competitors tested their skills in a stein-holding contest, an obstacle course and a costume contest and were judged by the volume of the cheering audience.
