Posted

Some Taos County officials and residents joined members of Congress and others to celebrate the lighting of the Capitol Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday (Dec. 4).

This year's national tree came from the Carson National Forest near Red River. It was hung with thousands of ornaments made by people all over the state and shipped to the nation's capitol with the 60-foot-tall blue spruce. Spearker of the House Nancy Pelosi presided over the lighting of the tree for the 55th annual event.
