Nusenda Credit Union in Taos is joining its other branch locations around the state in collecting school supplies.
The credit union is partnering with KOAT Channel 7 for the 11th year in the collection effort to help thousands of students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
The collection also helps teachers, who often dip into their own pockets to pay for supplies when students don’t have them. Among the items needed are pencils, pens, loose-leaf paper, spiral notebooks, binders, backpacks, scissors, rulers, pencil boxes, glue, crayons and watercolor paints.
Nusenda members and the community at-large can drop off donations at any of Nusenda Credit Union’s 19 branches. Nusenda’s Taos branch is at 630 Paseo del Pueblo Sur next to Albertson’s.
The school supply drive runs through Aug. 10. Collected supplies will be distributed to schools throughout the state.
