LMNOC Broadcasting brings the annual Mother's Day Music Festival back to Filemon Sanchez Park

Posted

It's been a while since the Mother's Day Music Festival has been held at Filemon Sanchez Park, but this year it's back.

Produced by LMNOC Broadcasting in conjunction with Super Save, Food King, Lowe's and numerous other sponsors, the 18th annual show is a panorama of local and regional contemporary, rock, pop and traditional Spanish music acts.

The festival will take place Friday through Sunday (May 10-12) at Filemon Sanchez Park, 939 Salazar Road in Taos.

Bands and performers scheduled for Friday from 4-10 p.m. include Oldzkool, Revolution Radio, Hartless, Bones of Romeo and Traveler in Pain.

On Saturday (May 11), from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., dance to Dickie Córdova, La Gente, Vero y Dulzura, Blue Ventures, Cuarenta de Cinco, Simpatico, Ernestine Romero and Smooth (Santana Tribute).

Then, on Mother's Day, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., it's Brenda Ortega, Sangre Joven, Miguel Timoteo y Suavidad, El Grupo Mezcal, Jerome Grant, Dwayne Ortega, and Brian Ortega & Most Wanted taking the stage.

Admission to the Filemon Sanchez Park festivities is free, as long as you have an official wristband, which you can get at various local sponsoring businesses, such as Super Save Foods in Taos.

In addition to a full three days of music and fun, the event will include two special Mother's Day Dances.

Both are Saturday (May 11). Music will be by Jerome Grant and the Dwayne Ortega Band at the dance at Old Martina's Hall, 4140 State Road 68 in Ranchos de Taos. The party gets started at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25, and available at LMNOC Studios, 827 Paseo del Pueblo Norte, or holdmyticket.com.

Then, another Mother's Day Dance gets started on the same day at 8 p.m. just north at the Sagebrush Inn and Suites, 1508 Paseo del Pueblo Sur. Music here will be by The Blue Ventures and Grupo Mezcal. Tickets are $25, and available at LMNOC Studios or holdmyticket.com.
