Posted

Albuquerque National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologists are tracking a cold front surging into the Rio Grande Valley Sunday night (Feb. 9) that will combine with a passing disturbance to produce light amounts of snow over portions of western and central New Mexico tonight and Monday.

Forecasters said light snow will continue over portions of western and central New Mexico Monday morning before a brief break Monday afternoon, but another significant winter storm is appearing likely Monday night through Tuesday night, with moderate to heavy snowfall, gusty winds and colder temperatures.

Travel will be impacted region wide, according to meteorologists, who predict the storm will exit the state Wednesday, though  colder than normal temperatures will persist through Friday.
