Monday (Feb. 4) — Cannabis discussion  

Taos United will be hosting a discussion about the pros and cons of legalizing recreational cannabis Monday (Feb. 4) from 5:30 to 7 p.m. State Sen. Gerald Ortiz y Pino will be leading the discussion, which takes place at the Taos County Democratic Headquarters (729-A Paseo del Pueblo Sur). RSVP to taosvotesblue@gmail.com

Tuesday (Feb. 5) — Taos County Commission meeting

It's been more than three years since the detox center in Taos closed down, and various entities have struggled since then to find a way to reopen it. At the Tuesday (Feb. 5) meeting, Taos County Commissioners will discuss and possibly award an RFP for detox services.

Also on the agenda is a commissioner's report about the state of the jail, and a closed-door discussion of litigation related to a man's death in the jail.

The meeting begins at 9 a.m. at the Taos County Commission Chambers (105 Albright in Taos).

Tuesday (Feb. 5) - Taos Municipal Schools Board Meeting

The Taos Municipal Schools Board will meet at 6 p.m. at Enos Garcia Elementary for a regular meeting.

The board will hear presentations from various aspects of the school as well as accept a "grow dome" from the Rocky Mountain Youth Corp.
