When: Thursday (Nov. 7), Noon to 8 p.m.
WHere: Llano Quemado Community Center
What: The Miranda Canyon Commission invites community members to attend a community open house to learn more about the on-going management challenges and opportunities in Miranda Canyon.
Community members are welcome to stop by the community open house at any time between noon and 8 p.m. today and stay for as long as they want.
Open house format
Attendees do not have to be familiar with Miranda Canyon in order to attend. The goal of the open house is to receive feedback from community members on a potential short-term closure and ideas for future management and community access. Posters will be up with more detailed information about the current condition of Miranda Canyon and updates on the process to develop a long-term management plan. Members of the Miranda Canyon Commission and U.S. Forest Service staff will be available throughout the entire open house to answer questions and receive comments.
Community members can provide feedback on the short-term closure and long-term management using an online survey, which can be found at tinyurl.com/yylztbun.
Contact email@example.com with any questions, comments, or concerns. See "Miranda Canyon plagued by trash, graffiti, erosion," in taosnews.com, Oct. 12.
