Opinion: Meow! Peaceful park

Blessed silence, how sweet the non-sound! I can hear … I can think … I can relax. Over the past three days, my eardrums reverberated, my brain ricocheted off the walls of my skull, my jaw stayed clenched and my patience stretched to the breaking point. Meow!

How wonderful for those who wanted to and could, but how simply awful for the rest of us who were held hostage by the event, not able to enjoy our daily lives, not able to sleep well, not able to be out and about in our park. Meow!

Campers outside my bedroom window, tree on the other side of my fence used as a urinal, people in front of my home scaling the park's fence and the unceasing thump, thump, thump of the festival. Meow!

Must these large events take place in our small park smack dab in the middle of town? A plaintive please to those among us who make it all happen … please find a location far outside of town and blast away! Meow!

Move the stage! Save our hearing, save our sanity and save our beautiful park! Meow!
