County commission considers tax rate

The Taos County Commission convenes a special meeting Tuesday (Sept. 11) to discuss and possibly adopt new tax rates. You can see info about the state's proposed tax rates, which affect the county, here.

The commission meeting is at 9 a.m. at the county commission chambers, Administrative Judicial Complex   105 Albright Street, Room 106.  Watch the meeting live here

Town council eyes new police cars

The town of Taos Council will hold a regular meeting  Tuesday (Sept. 11), at 4 p.m. to discuss  and possibly approve the transfer of $70,000 between two funds to purchase two 2018 Ford Police Interceptors "along with equipment," according to the agenda. 

The council also discuss an agreement with El Prado Water and Sanitation District to replace water the town used from the district after a couple of municipal well pumps failed over the summer. The council also will debate a proposed proclamation declaring "Meatless Mondays."

Taos Municipal Schools postpones meeting

The district's regular meeting Sept. 18 has been postponed to Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. at Arroyos Del Norte Elementary School.
