Town of Taos Council will meet Monday (July 8) at council chambers, 120 Civic Plaza Drive for a regular workshop meeting. at 4 p.m., Councilors will hear a presentation of crime and crash stats from police Chief David Trujillo and discuss items on the agenda for the council's regular meeting Tuesday..
Taos County Democrats are hosting a "Retake Our Democracy" event at the group's headquarters. A report card on the 2019 legislature will be presented as will discussions of how to decriminalize abortion in New Mexico and plans for developing legislation. The event is from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at 729 Paseo del Pueblo Sur near the intersection with Cruz Alta Road.
TUESDAY, (July 9):
A public hearing on a beer and wine license for Mexico Lindo Restaurant, 101 Paseo del Pueblo Sur, is on the agenda for the town of Taos regular council meeting, scheduled for 4 p.m. at council chambers. The council also will consider renewing a $90,000 contract with the Taos County Detention Center and discuss the polling locations for the 2020 municipal election.
Village of Angel Fire council will discuss filling the council seat left vacant when Barbara Cottam recently retired as mayor and Chuck Howe was voted in to finish her term. The council also will discuss various contracts. The meeting is at 5:30 p.m. at Village Hall.
Questa village council meets at 6:30 p.m. to vote on improvements to Cabresto Road and an agreement with Taos County for emergency medical services among other issues. The council also will discuss a water and sewer ordinance and possible acquisition of property along North Kiowa Road.
