Opinion: Lujan has the skills to be clerk

Posted

I am a lifelong Taoseño and have been a building contractor and Ski Shop business owner for 37 years and I have been through many elections.

In this ever-changing time of economics and health care it is now more critical than ever that we have the most competent, caring and qualified persons elected to office in Taos County. I am writing today to endorse Dolores Lujan for the office of Taos County clerk in the upcoming primary election.

I first met Dolores at the Taos County clerk's office and was amazed at her positive attitude and her knowledge of the services that are provided by the clerk's office. Dolores has been working in the Taos County clerk's office for 16 years and has the leadership skills and experience to lead and manage the clerk's office in the most professional and customer-friendly way.

She has been recognized for her ethics and professionalism, self-management and creating an ethical culture in the workplace. She is committed to total accountability for all county clerk finances and budgets and will offer superior customer service to the public. She intends to offer online access to all public documents, maintain an open-door policy and maintain the highest standard of honesty and integrity for herself and her staff.

Taos County needs to elect officials who are the most qualified and prepared to do the job that they are elected to do. Dolores is the best candidate to lead the Taos County clerk's office into the future.

It is time for a change in the clerk's office and I ask for your support and vote for Dolores Lujan.

Moises Martinez lives in Taos.
