Letter: Explore new power technology

Dear Editor:

In your Oct. 19 issue the article on the Lucky Corridor power line route was alarming.

While I’m all for a modern and maintained power grid, doubling the height of the current procession of towers from 48-feet to as much as 170-feet seems excessive, especially since it will necessitate clearing and building through wilderness land.

Why not explore new technology? Why not bury power lines wherever possible? Why not seek a low environmental footprint which would allow for less maintenance in a time of climatic change?

It is time to think “out of the box” and grow towards the future and not be stuck in the past.
