Jacqueline Sue Poehler

Jacqueline Sue Poehler passed peacefully at her home in El Prado, New Mexico on August 24, 2018.

Jackie was born February 3, 1950 in Evanston, Illinois to parents Ruth Evelyn and Charles Edward Poehler. Growing up in Glenview, Illinois, she graduated from Glenbrook North High School in 1968.

She attended the University of Arizona and later graduated from Missouri State University with a Degree in Nursing in 1989, where she achieved a Leadership Award, "Who's Who in Nursing."

She went on to use her education at hospitals in Missouri and Colorado as an RN, Staff Nurse in ICU, ER, Surgery, Oncology and Geriatric Care. Most recently, Jackie worked for Amerigroup and United Health Care in New Mexico, as an RN, Care Coordinator, Centennial Care, for elderly and other insurance clients, assessing client needs to their available insurance benefits.

A bright, intuitive, tireless nurse; caring and thoughtful of others, loving, generous and kind; a patient advocate who fought for her patients and clients' rights for treatment and maximum insurance benefits. She was much loved by her family, clients, patients and friends and will be greatly missed.

Jackie was predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Charles Poehler of Glenview, Illinois.

She is survived by brothers Arthur Poehler of Houston, Texas, and Charles Poehler of Glenview Illinois. Also surviving cousins; Joanne Holstrom of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin; Ken Stein of Chicago; Joyce Lugowski of Crossville, Tennessee; Carol Haddon of Travis City, Michigan and Shirley Nairn of Hobe Sound, Florida. Plus many very special friends, especially; Susan Embry, Nancy Jett, Jim Moder, Kathy Bennett and Paul Stymfal, Lou DeGreef, Buddy and Ruth Bender, Bob and Deb Ogle, Jeanne and Clay Williams, and Chuck Bennett.

Personal memorial remembrances have been held in New Mexico, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Florida, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin. Should you wish to make a contribution on her behalf, please contact the American Heart Association.
