It is critical for citizens from Taos County to comment on Santa Fe and Carson Forest plans

Time is running out, comment periods on the Santa Fe and Carson National Forest plans close November 7th. It is vitally important that Taosenos comment in order that the Forest Services decision makers receive local knowledge and perspectives are considered in the plans.

These plans will affect all our communities in Taos County and every County in Northern New Mexico for years to come. We all have a stake in how our forests are managed, so we need to make sure our voices are heard.  We will always need our Country through the USFS to invest time and money in our forests to maintain and improve this beautiful place we call home!

Traditional and agricultural land uses as well as recreation and wildlife are all essential to our economy and quality of life.  These forest plans need to balance all interests, so we the people that live here, who are the most directly affected, with the local knowledge need to make sure our voices heard!! Please find opportunities to comment on the websites for the Carson and Santa Fe national forests at fs.usda.gov/carson and fs.usda.gov/santafe. If you need assistance making a comment, please contact me at lawrence@westernlandowners.org.
