Events are happening around the region in honor of Earth Day. Here are a few with information on how you can get involved.

Questa park upgrades

On Monday, (April 22), from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., celebrate Earth Day in Questa by volunteering to install a new irrigation system for trees and landscaping at the Questa Municipal Park, Library and Youth Center. Volunteers also are neededf to help to clean-up, beautify and restore landscaping and cultural elements. Refreshments and lunch will be provided for volunteers.

Children of all ages are invited to help out. Organizers have lots of kid-friendly jobs plus enjoy special creative youth activities in honor of Earth Day sponsored by the Questa Library from 1 – 3 p.m.

The Earth Day event in Questa is coordinated by LEAP (Land, Experience and Art of Place), a program of the local nonprofit Localogy. This year’s partners include the Village of Questa, Friends of the Questa Library, Vida del Norte Coalition, North Central NM Food Pantry, Forest Service and others; contact has also been made for possible participation from Rocky Mountain Youth Corps and BLM.
