Passed away January 18, 2018 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico a place he dearly loved. He was born November 6, 1929 to Thomas Tune and Gertrude Turney-Tune in Mesilla Park, NM. He graduated from Las Cruces High School and attended Texas A&M. He then worked surveying all the power lines in Taos County, where he met the love of his life, Margaret Oakeley. They had been married 66 years at the time of his passing. He served in the Marines at Treasure Island in California after which he returned to Taos. He was a surveyor by trade, but also an entrepreneur and owned several businesses throughout his life. He moved the family to Las Cruces in 1969 and started a trailer park. He always loved Mexico and 41 years ago he opened a bed & breakfast in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Our father had a great sense of humor and was greatly loved by many. He will be deeply missed on both sides of the border. He is survived by his wife Margaret, son Tony and wife Regina, daughter Darline and husband Ray, and 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Brother Tom, sister Mary and Betty. Burial was held in Puerto Vallarta and a Celebration of his Life will be held in July 7, 2018 at the Hotel Encanto in Las Cruces from 3 to 6 p.m..
