Taos youth take part in the annual Easter egg festivities

Posted

Taos kids celebrated Easter over the weekend by hunting for a share of about 6,000 Easter eggs and 120 Easter baskets.

A portion of the eggs up for grabs were hard-boiled and hand-dyed by community members on Saturday (April 20) at the annual egg-coloring event at the Juan I. Gonzales Agricultural Center. Kids were invited to submerge the eggs in blue, orange, green and red dye to help celebrate the holiday and prepare for the free egg hunt Sunday (April 21) in Kit Carson Park.

Both annual events are sponsored by the Taos chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). For more, see the photo gallery at taosnews.com.
