Taos local career coach to speak

Brennan Murphey, a musician and career coach, will be the featured speaker at the Taos Entrepreneurial Network meeting Aug. 20, 5:30 p.m. at Old Martina's Hall, 4140 NM-68, Ranchos de Taos. Murphey specializes in helping solo entrepreneurs build and execute digital marketing strategies so they can get more business in less time.

Born and raised in Taos, Murphey developed expertise in sales and marketing through decades of work for both his own business and other businesses, primarily in the music and education markets. In the last nine months he has participated in intensive mentorship programs with some of the world's top business coaches and digital marketing experts including Jason Capital, Ted McGrath, Mark Bowness as well as Taylor Welch and Chris Evans of Traffic & Funnels. He will share what he has learned with other entrepreneurs.

Murphey's life goal is to impact one million people through his music, coaching, public speaking and digital courses.

Teach others, help community

Volunteer tutors needed to help adult learners achieve their personal, academic and professional goals through improving basic computer, reading and writing skills. Tutors will meet with students twice per week, and will be offered free training upon acceptance.

The Taos Education & Career Center at UNM-Taos serves students with a wide range of skill levels, from those with very low literacy to those participating in High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation. Interested in a new career, but you're not ready for college? Don't have a diploma? Would you like to improve your English skills?

The Taos Education & Career Center at UNM-Taos offers free classes for High School Equivalency (HiSet/GED) preparation, support for College & Career Development, ESL instruction and one-on-one tutoring to improve basic literacy skills.
