Taos County schools regular schedule; Eagle Nest, Moreno Valley schools delayed

Posted

While a couple of inches of snow blanketed the Taos Valley, Taos area schools are on a regular schedule today (Feb. 7).

Taos Municipal Schools superintendent Lillian Torres confirmed buses will run as usual and schools will open at the regular time.

Eagle Nest and Cimarron Schools are on a two-hour delay due to snow and ice as is Moreno Valley High School.  Many other schools in the northwestern part of New Mexico are on a two-hour delay.

Temperatures across the region will be below normal today with wind chill driving the cold factor down into the minus range tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Albuquerque.

Taos Ski Valley reported seven inches of fresh powder and Angel Fire Resort reported nine inches in the last 24 hours.
