Damaging winds, snow through Sunday evening

Batten down the hatches, Taos Valley.

Strong, damaging winds and blowing snow will slam through northcentral and northeastern New Mexico through Sunday night as a low-pressure system moves east across the mountains, according to the National Weather Service in Albuquerque. Higher elevations of the Sangre de Cristo, Tusas and Jemez Mountains could receive a couple of inches of snow.

Colder than normal weather and strong winds with scattered showers are expected to continue through Monday.
