Communities Against Violence had a record setting 15th annual Radiothon fundraiser Oct. 12 with the help of KTAOS Solar Radio and a slew of volunteers, according to the nonprofit.
Over the 12-hour fundraiser, the Radiothon raised $76,642.43, according to CAV's media director Susan Embry.
"We are so proud of the community's response to our positive message of being part of the solution to be there for and support every neighbor and friend," said Embry in an email.
The event featured lunch for anyone who dropped by the KTAOS Solar Center and donated, plus lots of gift certificates and special give-aways by local businesses. Assistance Dogs of the West were there, representing a collaboration between the service dog organization and CAV that teaches children how to train the dogs.
