Catharine “Tinca” Bodson, Age 97, died peacefully at home March 22, 2020. She was a long-time resident of Taos, and lately of Belen, NM where she had lived with her daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Bodson; son, John, and grandson, Ian. Also brother, David Verheyden and sister, Amélie Hughes. Surving members of her family are daughters, Claude Bodson (Lawrence M. Martinez) and Claire Garms (Eugene P. Garms); grandchildren Joel Johnson, Jason Bodson (Julie), Celia Sturges (Ky), Cathy Valenzuela (Ruben); and great-grandchildren Jacob Johnson, Liam Johnson, Valhalla Johnson, Michaela Johnson, Noah Johnson, Jonas Bodson, Sophie Sturges, Lane Valenzuela, and Lacey Valenzuela; nephews David Verheyden (Pat), John Verheyden (Stephanie), and niece Nancy (Verheyden). There are also many “adopted” family members. Tinca had a full life: surviving WWII, and living on 3 different continents. She enjoyed traveling, music and art, gardening, sewing, quilting, and knitting, but most of all gathering with friends and family. A memorial gathering in her honor will be held at a later time and ashes will be dispersed. The family would like to thank Amber Care Hospice & Rivera Funeral Home.
