Bill Evans Lake: Richard Dominguez of Hurley caught and released a 6.9-pound largemouth bass using a drop shot rig July 20.

Canjilon Lakes: Olivia Maestas, age 6, of Albuquerque caught a 16.5-inch rainbow trout using her Frozen Princess Fishing pole with a worm as bait July 20.

Cochiti Lake: Emilio Hernandez, age 11, of Albuquerque caught a 4-pound, 6-ounce, 21-inch long carp at the Tetilla Peak dock fishing with a hotdog July 20.

Elephant Butte Lake: Kristen Ferguson of Los Lunas caught her first walleye. It was 30-inches long and weighed in at 7.8-pounds. She caught it using minnows on live bait jigs July 20.

Lake Maloya: Samantha Quinonez, age 19, of Las Vegas caught a 19-inch rainbow trout that weighed 3.2-pounds. She caught this fish using garlic PowerBait July 21.

Navajo Lake: Brothers Tatum, age 12, and Waylon Lowe, age 11, of Albuquerque caught and released over 50 smallmouth bass each jigging plastic worms and crawdads in the rocks near shore at Francis Canyon between July 18 and 21.

Oasis Park Lake: Miguel Barrera of Clovis caught a 16.5-inch largemouth bass using a minnow crankbait July 20.

Seven Springs Hatchery: Jace Martinez, age 7, of Las Vegas, Nevada caught a 16-inch rainbow trout on his first cast using a Black Wooly Bugger on July 20. Julian Schutte, age 9, of Rio Rancho caught and released a 7-pound 3-ounce brown trout using PowerBait on his 9th birthday July 22.

Ute Lake: Laura Walker of Amarillo caught and released a 5.06-pound black bass using a minnow on a crappie rig July 20. To top it off, it was Laura’s 60th birthday. Jeff Boulware of Edgewood caught a 5.68-pound smallmouth bass using watermelon colored plastics July 20.
