Bernadette A. (Lefthand) Cordova A Taos Pueblo tribal member was called home by the great spirit on September 6, 2019 at the age of 63. She is survived by her mother Josephine Lefthand; her husband, John Cordova; her children Rhonda Silva, Heather Cordova Perkins (Dan), Dwayne Lefthand Sr. (Felicia); Grand children, Silva grandchildren, Devin and Jared Rios; Cory Lujan Lefthand (Julia) , Kyra Lujan Lefthand (Dion), Dwayne Lefthand Jr, Damian Lefthand; Great grandchildren, Percy Okanee Lujan, Dion Martinez Jr., Aaliyah Martinez; Brothers and sisters, Susan Lefthand, Gary Lefthand, Janet Lefthand, Harold Lefthand; and many other uncles and aunts, nephews and nieces, extended family and friends. Bernadette was born November 10,1955 to Tommy Lefthand Jr. and Macrina Lucero. She attended school at St. Catherine Indian School in the early 70's. She worked for IHS for several years before coming home to Taos Pueblo continuing her work in Health Services for P.M.S. she also worked for her community as one of the first Administrative Asst. for the Taos Pueblo Warchiefs office helping establish protocol Procedures & accountability measures. Which laid groundwork for operations in the Warchiefs office today. She finished her work for Taos Pueblo as Utilities Program Manager where she helped in the development and establishment of the Taos Pueblo Utilities Department. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and daughter. Her family was her world. She lived a life of kindness and generosity. A special thanks to all family, friends and Community who shared their love and support to our family during our time of loss.
