Beatrice Yolanda Cota, age 74, passed away of cardiovascular disease on Septemeber 9, 2019 at home in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. Born March 23, 1945 in Los Angeles, CA, Bea made Taos her home in 1974 when she moved here with her 5 year old son. A year later her daughter was born in Taos and other than brief moves to Germany and Colorado she resided in Taos until 2012. She left behind many loved ones when she moved out of state due to health reasons. She is survived by her brother J.C. Cota, son Matthew Hemmitt, daughter Dilia Rael. Also survived by granddaughters Elise Iringan, Jessica Pacheco, grandson Joey Brown and great-grandsons Ezra Pacheco and Josiah Brown. Bea created beautiful hand-made beaded jewelry that she was well known for in Taos and surrounding areas. She participated in local arts and crafts fairs for many years but also had numerous vocations in Taos including: hairdresser, bartender, waitress, flagger for road construction, sales lady at La Unica Cosa and other local establishments. She was a friend of many in the Taos Arts community. Briefly participated in local theater productions and she enjoyed attending local events and concerts. A future date will be determined for her dear friends and family to remember her with a celebration of life
