Hotly anticipated event offered a legendary heavy metal show for Taos

Posted

On Friday and Saturday (May 17-18,) heavy metal, rock and psychedelic bands converged at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to give audiences a viewing experience unlike any before.

The Monolith on the Mesa festival featured over 30 bands from across the U.S. performing on the indoor and outdoor stages at Taos Mesa Brewing Mothership. Headlining acts included OM, Dead Meadow, The Obsessed and The Well. The multiday, high-desert rock festival will hopefully be the first of many for Northern New Mexico.

Photos here were shot by The Taos News photographer Morgan Timms and reporter Jesse Moya.
