Taos Fire Department firefighters could be seen Thursday (Feb. 7) getting ready to go downstairs to help put out a fire in a small apartment row just east of the Albertson's market on Paseo del Pueblo Sur.
The fire broke out approximately 10 a.m. Thursday. There appeared to be no injuries, although an ambulance was called to be on scene to monitor the action.
Marcos Tafoya, who took over his dad's barber shop at the south end of the complex and is also a volunteer firefighter, was on scene and helped evacuate residents as fire trucks arrived.
Residents could be seen shivering in 23 degree temperatures, with a 5-10 mile wind dropping temps to around 13 degrees.
